Illovo Eston MTB Challenge - 10 May 2007

PRESS RELEASE 1

The fifth Illovo Eston MTB Challenge takes place on 5 August this year. The event will again host the Mazda Marathon and Fritz Pienaar Half-Marathon National Series. This excellent race is definitely one not to be missed. The organizers claim it is THE most popular race on the KZN calendar. We spoke to organizer Brett Austen Smith and asked him how they can claim this status. Brett’s truthful answer was “We don’t need national surveys to tell us that this is the most popular race in KZN if not the country. We know of no other race that can honestly claim 100% growth in each year the race has been held. The riders vote with their bikes, not their email address!!” Touché. Well said!!

Let’s analyze the successful factors of this race.

• Excellent venue close to PMB, Durban, South Coast and KZN Midlands.
• 5 Star accommodation in close proximity for out of province riders and families to enjoy.
• A grade facilities at venue – additional showers and toilets to be provided this year.
• Fantastic courses designed for all levels of riders.
• Unsurpassed value for money – the Goodie bag and T-Shirt have set new standards in sport throughout the country. Entry fees are also realistic.
• Wonderful atmosphere created by organizers and spectators.
• Idyllic setting in Eston Countryside.
• Top notch organization – registration is being improved this year. Be prepared to be impressed!!
• Prizes galore for all – lots of lucky draw prizes handed out on a random basis.
• Absolutely awesome support from wide variety of sponsors all giving freely of their product.

ILLOVO ESTON MTB CHALLENGE - 5 AUGUST 2007

Illovo Sugar are again the title sponsors of one of the most popular mountain bike races in the country. The 5th edition of the Illovo Eston Mtb Challenge will be held on 5th August 2007 at the Eston Farmers club. The courses and venue are simply awesome!!! Something for everybody. The 75km Marathon is a good challenge – a true marathon course, yet is still enjoyable and achievable if you have done your homework. As for the 45km Half Marathon – well what can I say? The scenery is magnificent and the route is fun, and as easy (or hard) as you want to make it. Both these races are again part of the Mazda Drifter/Fritz Pienaar Cycles series. The 20km Family Fun Ride was a huge success last year and will definitely be on the cards again this year. This was a real family affair last year with Moms and Dads trying to keep up with their children to maintain just a small element of pride.

There will also be a 10km Kiddies ride for those who prefer not to venture too far from the car. And what about the small important things??? The Illovo Eston organizers are well known for getting this right. Course marking has always been top class. Want to see value for money?? The organizers promise a better goodie bag (if that is possible), and lucky draw prizes galore. Original brand Moisture management shirt to online entries only!!. Facilities at the club are excellent for all riders and spectators alike. There are many Game lodges and B & B’s in the area offering special rates for the weekend. So book early and tell them that you are doing the race.

In addition, you get a quality medal, and lllllllladies, you get a magnificent Protea --- ALL for the simple price of your entry fee. Talk about value for money!!!!
